Purpose of the post:
To assist with the team duties as a team member, but with a particular expertise in project management, building design and
building surveying.
To co-ordinate construction projects.
To co-ordinate technical staff and their workload.
To achieve best value in all property related activities.
To assist in the preparation of Asset Management Plans.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITY
* Co-ordinating data and information to ensure that new design, development, maintenance and property management work
benefits from latest technology and standards, and our own property performance criteria.
* Undertake surveys and prepare reports on the condition of buildings.
* To provide and co-ordinate designed solutions to deliver projects including feasibility stage to ensure design and costing
deliverables are fully developed by the project team.
* To manage the co-ordination and delivery of both capital and revenue-funded programmes of work and projects associated with
maintenance, works of a minor nature including repairs and adaptations and major refurbishment / new build schemes as directed
by the Head of Corporate Design.
* To provide information on time taken in respect of cases/projects to ensure compliance with national performance indicators and
benchmarking.
* Develop programmes of work including workload profiles for technical staff to ensure projects are delivered in a timely manner as
directed by the Head of Corporate Design.
* To assist in the development and maintenance of property information databases as necessary to deliver the Council's Asset
Management Plan.
* Prepare council reports for identified schemes including option appraisal within legislative constraints and current issues such as
sustainability and whole life costing, to commence project initiation, funding bids and the development of detailed project briefs as
detailed by the Head of Corporate Design.
* Co-ordinate the activities of technical staff appointed to a project and/or procure professional services by means of framework
agreements or other to ensure that adequate resources are provided.
