Job Summary
Provide an efficient and effective technical support to the senior electrical engineer in his duties to provide maintenance and design 
services to the Department’s clients. 

Profile
•	Carry out design work on building projects of value £50k to £2.5m including producing CAD drawings and technical specifications. 
•	Be able to produce designs using Heavacomp software. 
•	Deal with enquiries concerning routine maintenance of mechanical and electrical services.
•	Give timely responses to maintenance requests by arranging visits by the appropriate contractors to meet the needs of the 
Department’s clients.
•	In accordance with the Department’s quality assurance procedures, be responsible for inspection of the contractor’s work to ensure that the clients always receive the correct standard of service at an appropriate cost.
•	Provide assistance to the senior electrical engineer on a wide variety of design projects to ensure that projects are completed on 
time and within budgets.
•	Be able to maintain clear records and to carry out and complete tasks to agreed timescales and with minimal supervision and 
direction. 

Standard of Dress / PPE
•	Design office

Education & Training
•	Basic engineering qualification to ONC or HNC standard.
•	Competent in the use of Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Email systems
•	Proficient with Heavacomp software
•	Proficient with AutoCad software.

Specific Experience
•	Broad experience and knowledge of building electrical systems and the associated design.
•	Driving licence and the use of a car for business travel is a requirement of the post
