The post is located in the ICT services team and reports to the Database and Integration team leader. The post holder will work within the 3rd line support team. This post is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation and on-going management and maintenance of the council's integration technologies, and associated services. What will you be doing? Build and maintain software that enables computer systems to communicate or share information with each other. For example development of integration components to enable Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems to carry out transactions with service area systems. For example, development of batch interfaces, to provide secure transfer of files/data between key systems within the Authority and also with third party partner organisations. Design and build high quality software that helps the council, its partners and customers, to process information more effectively. Contribute to the software assets of the organisation by designing and developing products to maximise their usefulness for future projects both within and beyond the organisation. Manage end-to-end system life cycle from requirements analysis, through design, development, quality assurance and documentation, to deployment and support. Management of servers and services that respond to external and internal requests for information and services from our computer systems. Keep up to date with developments and changes to PSN requirements and ensure that system(s) they hold responsibility for are compliant. Provide guidance on ICT matters to non-ICT service area officers. Provide non-technical interpretation on technical documents. Maintain an awareness of legislation and standards relating to the work of the post, including: Freedom of Information Act, Data Protection Act, Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. Participate in provision of a third line support service to customers liaising with the IT service Desk as necessary, using the automated service management system for call logging and resolution of incidents, in addition to other service management activities, such as change management. Actively support the ICT departments adoption of ITIL and ISO standards. Ensure compliance with all departmental adopted policies, procedures and processes relevant to the position. When required to do so comply and implement the departments current service recovery and business continuity plans and to assist with any other duties required in the event of these plans being enacted. Keep up to date with current technological advances in hardware and software, carry out product research and evaluation, and maintain an awareness of technological advances in hardware and software in use within the authority and elsewhere. Be aware of relevant Health and Safety regulations. Be involved in other comparable duties within the IT Services unit consistent with the level of the post and carry out any other duties which may be allocated by the Infrastructure and Security Team Leader What we expect of you You will: adopt a customer focused approach when delivering your service, ensuring engagement with service users and maintenance of an appropriate personal profile, act as an advocate for your service and work collaboratively with colleagues across the whole Council to meet the needs of the people of Shropshire, meet individual, service and personal development targets agreed through the Personal Development Review Process, learn from experience and are committed to continuous improvement individually and as an employee of the Council, work with colleagues to meet your team?s key performance indicators, support a culture of team working and ensure the team functions successfully in support of the Council?s corporate and service objectives. meet the behaviours and competencies adopted by the Council in the way in which they achieve their objectives and carry out their work.
