We are looking to recruit an Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) within the Safeguarding & Reviewing Team. . Registration with Social Care Wales and an enhanced DBS are essential requirements of this role.

As an Independent Reviewing Officer, you will be responsible for Chairing Children Looked After Reviews, Child Protection Conferences, Pathway Plans and Adoption Reviews. The role requires the promotion of full participation by children, parents and their carers, ensuring that their views are heard, and their rights promoted.

You will monitor the performance of the Local Authority’s function as a corporate parent for children looked after and therefore will need the ability to demonstrate independence and the ability to challenge.

Knowledge on relevant legislation and regulations is essential, as is experience and understanding of child protection and the ability to work from a strengths based multi-agency approach is a must.

All work can be carried out from home utilising your own equipment and Teams Meetings etc for communication purposes
