An exciting opportunity has arisen on an initial 6 month basis for the right candidate to work within a newly established Development Team who are tasked with delivering the Council’s ambition to develop more affordable, social homes and in doing so support the circular and foundational economies. The right candidate will be able to evidence a track record of having effectively delivered a number of regeneration and new build projects and have the following knowledge, experience and qualifications: Degree / Post Graduate Qualification in a subject related to the built environment, planning or quantity surveying. Evidence relevant accreditation / qualifications: RICS, MCIOB, RIBA. Project management qualification. Understand and be capable of delivering a scheme from post acquisition through to post planning. Be well versed in strategies required to optimise a development site. Evidence the ability to undertake calculations, design, feasibility work and development appraisals including financial appraisals and modelling. Background of working on mixed tenure residential projects and working with social housing providers. Evidence technical understanding and the ability to provide technical advice in respect of development, planning, highways and property. Evidence the ability to develop creative, innovative and imaginative solutions to development opportuntities. Understanding of the Welsh policy context in relation to new build social homes and Welsh Government requirements as outlined in ‘Re-imagining Social Housing in Wales’.

DURATION 6 MONTHS INITIALLY
