We are looking for Support Workers / Children’s activity leaders (disabled children and young people) the team support children and young people aged 8 to 19 years outside of a structured school setting in play, social and community activities including swimming, bowling, play sessions, arts and crafts, cooking, etc
The role also includes supporting with personal care, manual handling (if trained) medication (if trained) communication support etc. A large number of the children and young people have a diagnosis of ASD
The support we provide is on a 1;1 to 2:1 basis dependant on the individuals needs and requirements.
Our after school club provision runs on Monday and Wednesday from 3.15 to 6.00pm (if we are off site it may end at 7.00pm) term time only. We are based in Heronsbridge School Bridgend but go out and about from there.
Our other provision is named Discovery Days and runs during the Easter and Summer holidays. For children and young people with disabilities aged 8 to 18 years. The dates are 7th, 8th and 9th April then 14th, 15th and 16th April. Timings are usually 9.30am to 2.30pm very similar job role as above but we also provide Rebound trampoline sessions.
Our base for this is Pencoed Comprehensive School, Sports Hall based in Bridgend but again we go out and about.
