We are looking for a support worker to assist a 23yr old male client, with Cerebral Palsy, to enable him to lead as full
and active life as possible. Client is looking for support for social activities and escort duties. Initially 20hrs per week
however this may increase as client is currently studying for an MA in Swansea University.
Client has cerebral palsy which affects his whole body. He has involuntary movements (movements he cannot control)
throughout his body and the frequency and severity of these increase at times, particularly with effort or emotion.
Therefore the client needs assistance with all aspects of personal care and daily living. In addition duties would include
assistance with domestic tasks such as the preparation of meals, snacks, drinks, laundry and general tidying in relation
to the care of the client. Written records will need to be completed at the end of each shift and any concerns or changes
reported immediately.
The client uses either a manual or powered wheelchair for mobility. He is able to independently control his powered chair
using a joystick, with his right hand. At times when in busy or unfamiliar places the Client prefers to use his manual wheelchair.
The support worker will need a clean driving licence, access to their own vehicle and be able to drive the clients vehicle.
